Sunday night update

Lovely day at the Bath V&A market today - and I finally remembered to take my camera along with me.

You and me

Just finished this evening. Apologies for the bad photo...

And to top it off

Oops - how could I have forgotten this young lady? One day soon she'll be sitting in pride of place at the top of someone's tree. For now, she's waiting patiently for her wings and some jewellery for a bit of extra sparkle...

Another sort of topping:

This one just needs quilting and edging.... a few late nights between here and the Bath V&A market on Sunday methinks!

Work in progress

The house is currently filled with lots and lots of half finished projects...

Gift tags:

'You & Me' (the lettering, which will go beneath them, is yet to be stitched):

More bunting:

Do-it-yourself inspiration packs, perfect as stocking fillers!

Watch out, here I come...

Sorry it's been a bit quiet on the blog for the last couple of weeks. Have been stitching like a crazy lady trying to get work finished for all of the upcoming Christmas (ssshhhhh, not too loud, it's still a while off) markets.  Coming up, in order of appearance, I will be at:

Bath V&A market, Green Park Station on Sunday 30 October, Sunday 27 November and Sunday 18 December  http://vintageandantiques.co.uk/

Widcombe Artists Christmas Fair at St Matthews Church, Widcombe Hill, Bath on Saturday 12 November  http://www.widcombeassociation.org.uk/Postersfliers/craftfair2011.pdf

It's Darling Fair, Guildhall, Bath on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November.  http://itsdarlingfair.blogspot.com/ and on facebook

and, last but not least:

St Catherine Artisan Market, Frome on Sunday 4 December  http://wegotfleas.com/

Phew. Now all I have to do is make enough stock to keep me going until 18 December! Will start posting pictures of the finished articles here soon...

Object of desire (no. 6)

Another chocolate one I'm afraid.... actually, I don't know why I'm apologising, because these biscuits look pretty amazing (and I'm willing to bet that they taste good too!):

Recipe in the Guardian here

New work (no.5)

Had quite a busy week so apologies for the lack of any new posts! Thanks to the people at www.love-local.com I have a photo of the goody bag, including my piece, being delivered to No. 10:

This week has also seen another new arrival in the family - I have a new niece! Welcome to the world baby Poppy! Am still trying to think what to make for your new nursery, so consider this an IOU...

In between finishing the Home Sweet Home piece, and rushing off to London to visit little Poppy I've just about managed to finish off two new family trees. And I've been asked to do the cover of the Christmas catalogue for Mr B's bookshop, which I'm very excited about. Will be heading there tomorrow with my camera to get some pictures of the outside so that I can start planning the piece. They have recently launched their new all singing, all dancing (and, more importantly, all selling) website (www.mrbsemporium.com), well worth having a browse if you aren't local enough to pop in and visit them in person!

Downing Street

As of tomorrow, I'll be able to sell my work online! Love-Local (www.love-local.com), a new online retail site promoting local products and artists in Devon and Somerset, is having its official launch tomorrow evening at an e-commerce awards ceremony in London. As part of the launch they've been invited to send a package to Downing Street... including this little number:

I can't quite believe that a piece of my work is on it's way to Downing Street tomorrow - in fact, I haven't allowed myself to think about it too much. I really like this 'Home Sweet Home', and hope it ends up with someone who likes it too, rather than being relegated to a store cupboard somewhere in a government office! As soon as I get the time, I think I'm going to do another version, this time based on a classic Bath townhouse - plenty of them around here to use for inspiration!

Hello Kitty at Liberty London

Just been online and ordered some of this:

More Liberty/Hello Kitty fabric on the Liberty website here but be quick, it seems to be vanishing quickly!

Sunday night update

I had a lovely time at yesterday's textile fair in Chipping Sodbury (http://www.vintageandhandmade.co.uk/) and met some lovely people - hello to everyone who stopped to talk or buy!

Some pictures of my stall, including a couple of pieces of new work:

I forgot my camera, so these pictures are borrowed from their Facebook page (here). It was a really fantastic day - if you want to see some more pictures,  there are about 200 more here.

Am keeping my fingers crossed that they'll have a cancellation so that I can squeeze myself into their Christmas fair on 3 December!
